Bet the sniffer was warblering like crazy.
Fun story.Buddy changed all the gas orifices in a commercial kitchen, propane to natural gas. A lot of them. Used pipe dope out of a used bottle with brush. Soap bubble tested , all good then used sniffer. Well that thing wouldn’t stop beepin. Every single orifice! Tried another sniffer, same deal. Re soap tested, all good. ?????? Figured out the brush got contaminated from a different job and must have been some refrigerant oil on brush. Trashed the bottle.
There was such a small amount of refrigerant in such a large system, it would have taken to much to get a reading.

I ended up putting 350psi of nitrogen to it. That made it bubble...but the bubbles weren't much bigger than a pin head.

Ended up with just shy of 14 yesterday. Worked 8.5 today and it felt like part time.

You try the UV leak detector? Works pretty good throwing some in & coming back the next day to find it

I've used dye with success, but dye voids Heatcraft's (and many other makers) warranty.

Dye works great for demonstrating to a customer why the need to replace their r22 system, or proving an evaporator leak.
We use dye in automotive and machinery applications. Cars, trucks, and tractors, always a bunch of trim or panels to remove, and sometimes you still can't access all the lines. JD tractors run the lines up thru a tube that supports the roof of the cab, 4 feet of line that you can't see, but that's usually where they leak.

Guessing it was a 20 yr+ unit? I had a 25 yr old 55 ton Carrier begging to get replaced due to age when it was approved. That unit had zero and I mean zero issues outside a few fuses and bearings. But a 20 yr old 50 ton York started leaking like crazy over several months. Fixed multiple leaks and was expecting it to die any day. Expedited order to replace that one first. Replaced with a made in Mexico Carrier that took a year to get. Sweating bullets right up to my retirement. Installed a few months before I left in June last year. Old Carrier was still humming along when replaced late last year.

Just finished helping the wife can a bushel of green beans. I also got done putting a safety in a Jennings j-22 that was sold to me on GB without one. Called the guy I bought it from and he offered to take it back and refund me my purchase price but I would be out the transfer fees and shipping to return it. Found a parts bag on eBay that had the safety and spring in it for $30 and it came this morning so I got it put in. I bought the gun from Dixon gunshop in Wisconsin.

I paid $50 bucks for my jammer. brand new ,probably late 80s . about the same time I got the Davis arms 22 mag derringer. also 50 bucks.

I bought a Ruger 77RS tanger off GB in 30-06, looked good in the pictures. RS means Roundtop/Sights which is what I wanted, and I bought it at a good price. If you're familiar with Ruger 77's, the front sight is pretty large with a band that wraps around the barrel. Nothing unusual in the pictures or the ad, but when I got it I found it had been magnaported. Really no big deal, and it does seem to tame the recoil and muzzle jump, but you'd have thought they would have mentioned that in the GB ad. The front sight kinda' hides the porting, I never noticed it til I received it.

First single track mtn bike ride since April knee repair.
How ya Feelin? Been cutting my neighbors lawn for the last month or two. He got knee surgery for bone on bone issues. New knee feels great but the other one hobbles him. Surgery in Dec for that. Looks like I’m snow blowing for him after that one.

Cleaned out my living room mini split this am. Man the blower fan was caked with dust chunks. The evap coils weren’t that bad and filters are cleaned twice a year. Neat bonnet wraps around the unit with built in funnel and hose. Sure beats taping plastic all around it. Spray coil cleaner , wait 20 min then spray hot water over coils and fans… a lot, mostly the fan. The coil rinse goes down the condensate drain. Blower water spills out into the bonnet funnel. Then used a hand held swifter dust mop to reach up behind the fan to clean. That worked well. Cleaned cover in tub.
Put back together after it all dries. Do bedroom tomorrow.
