Had many black ash trees removed some years ago after the Emerald Ash Borers started killing them. The areas where the stumps we ground have been sinking ever since. Had more trees removed over the years, and finally had three maples removed this year after they were damaged by the April 29th storm this year. Same deal deal there. I'm working on filling the bare and sinking areas and getting ready for smoothing and seeding. Had 10 yards of screened topsoil delivered yesterday afternoon. Started wheelbarrowing the soil around, tamping, and raking this morning. Worked till noon. I'm tired and sore. I think I'll let it rain on the filled areas and add more soil as they sink. I'm maybe halfway through the pile. I need a good nap. Getting too old for this kind of stuff.

Worked at a church cemetery for a few years. Sunken graves were common in the spring. Most were recent ones where dirt settled around the vault . A few were 100 year old ones where the wooden casket fell apart and the void finally settled. I called them speed bumps while cutting grass. Had old one collapse during the first grass cut of the year. Mower rode over grave and it dropped before rear tires crossed it. Had to get the backhoe to pull out the mower. Dropped about 8”, neat and rectangular 3’x7’. Level with topsoil and seed.
After the tornado here a few years ago next door neighbor ground stumps of half dozen trees. Had chips removed and topsoil delivered. He tamped dirt down but slightly raised the fill figuring it would settle. I guess he tamped very well as it’s been 4 years now and none have settled. He’s not happy about that. I’ve been mowing his lawn due to recent knee surgery and it’s like a mini roller coaster full of whoop de do’s. lol.

Cleaned the bedroom mini split. Smaller unit and way less dirty. Still left a bucket of dirty water after rinsing, mostly from the fan louvers. I suspect the living room unit being close to the kitchen got cooking vapors pulled in and the moisture and dirt stuck to the fan more. Let it dry then reassemble. One more unit in my gun room, gonna be a pia to move the bench or clean it up enough.

The weather has sucked. I’m waiting for some decent weather to go for some squirrels with the .22. And I’ve been sick as a dog the past few days.

Passing time from deer season to trout and turkey season.

What is everyone doing to get through?

Ive also been loading some shells, washed most of my hunting clothes and put them away, doing some NET scouting for this coming year. And clearing snow.

Hasnt been long at all and I’m already getting cabin fever.
I'm working on fixing up an old crossbow imma let my dad use,it needs new cables and strings and may have another problem after that.

Other than that I'm just messing with my guns
