The weather has sucked. I’m waiting for some decent weather to go for some squirrels with the .22. And I’ve been sick as a dog the past few days.

Passing time from deer season to trout and turkey season.

What is everyone doing to get through?

Ive also been loading some shells, washed most of my hunting clothes and put them away, doing some NET scouting for this coming year. And clearing snow.

Hasnt been long at all and I’m already getting cabin fever.

Its been so cold and windy here. We didn't get much into the 30's this month so I just been getting off work and sitting around the house. I try to come up with reasons to drive into Bloomsburg for something to do

lol sorry. Once the cold snap lifted the squirrels have been out in abundance. There is one squirrel i saw in archery season and around new years that i hope see. I was setting traps around new years so i didnt have a gun but its a big fox squirrel with a black head and belly and a normal fox squirrel tail. I carry a gun i dont see him lol

Hunting coyotes, bobcats, and working with a young family. I did do some scouting during flintlock in ANF for next year but didn’t carry a gun while I was out. Shooting a doe is just work and time for me right now.

Haven’t given up on bobcat, but I am loosing the fire. The area I hunt them in 2F is massive, and I hunt where I have seen there tracks with no luck. I only get out a couple days a year for that.

...got off a 19 straight day work streak this past Thursday..the last 7 days of it were outside - some pretty cold days with a 28 hour run- all outside. So all my deer hunting planned days off were scratched.
Going to sight in a new rifle for possibly using for Ag tags...

still taking care of my ankles. right one is better and doing good. the left one is still a pain that keeps changing. its slowly getting better. i was going to try and hunt AG tag this Saturday but cancelled due to attending a memorial service for my best friend of 52 years who passed away this past weekend.
his wife asked me to speak and i reluctantly agreed, i honestly have no idea how to get thru it with out breaking down. i've known him since i was 13

sorry for the damper on the thread, please dont derail it.

i do keep checking the charge on my predator hunting batteries, and did order the kenetrek boots we talked about in the other thread, so thats a positive.

Spending money prepping for turkey season. I bought a Mossberg sa-20 and a few brands of shells for that and another gun. I’m trying to be prepared if my adult daughter goes this year. It makes me wonder how many chokes and brands of ammo most buy in the effort for the perfect pattern. I’m going to try the stock choke before going crazy.

i‘ve also been watching turkey hunting videos. I like it better than the news.

Tore apart all my reels, greased them and got everything ready to fish again. Started thawing meat from this season to make jerky and grind/sausage/meatballs. Washed and put away all my hunting gear. Cut firewood, split firewood, stacked firewood, moved firewood, moved fire wood again....... pretty much anything I can do to keep from going into post season depression....... probably gonna start scouting/small game til the close of the seasons......

O and work, but I only wirk to support my outdoors habits....

We just moved to a new home the week before Christmas. I’ve been too busy to do any trapping this year. Remodeled the basement bathroom, redone the room that is now the gym and reloading room, garbage disposal in the kitchen, dealt with some plumbing issues, ran a dedicated circuit to the garage for the chest freezer and refrigerator, installed a man door and light in the garage (wasn’t one there before) purchased a pellet insert for the fireplace, and a ton of other things….
I need a 😴
