Just got outa' the shower from washing the grease, grim, and sweat off. Sitting on my porch in my underwear watching our dogs play. Been a rough week work wise, I'm pretty tired and sore. We're going fishing tomorrow, so I'll get moving here pretty quick and get our boat hitched up and ready. After it cools off a little I might get some plowing done, we want to get our plots in by next weekend.

I had to have 3 hydraulic hoses made for my dozer this morning. 2 were 1/4", three feet long with straight fittings on both ends. The other was a 3/4", two feet long, straight on one end, 90 degree on the other. The straight fittings are the cheapest, 90's are more, so only one expensive fitting out of 6. I know stuff has gone up, but I almost 💩 myself when he said $275 for those 3 relatively small easy to make hoses. I was thinking $150. I'm gonna' start shopping around other places before I need more hoses.

Wald Jager - I see your retirement is keeping you busy!
Lucky I got the easier jobs of this weekend including cooking. 2 are in mid 50’s and kid is 25. Did notice they all were poppin advil last night😆

My walleye fishing trip with Tim and his dad was a success. The lake was a little rougher than expected, with waves around two feet and swells a little higher. It made setting planer boards and maintaining those lines a bit tricky, but Tim managed it well, and we managed to land 13 legal walleyes, released a couple undersized ones and lost a few in about maybe 3 1/2 hours of actual fishing. The biggest fish was about 27 inches and a hair under 6 pounds. In an incredible act of generosity, Tim and his dad sent all of the fish home with me, and I have enough walleye meals to last me for quite a while.

In addition to the fishing, we just had a good time catching up the evening before and at the marina afterwards. A good time was had by all.

I’m fixing the Formica countertop that wasn’t glued very well. I suspect it was a light coat of glue that got sucked up by wood. Left half was completely unglued and right half had 3-4” along the front. Lifted, sprayed Formica and counter, used slats to seperate then let dry then rolled down. Cleaning kitchen before oacking up to leave. Super productive weekend and good comaraderie.

Went and bought 14 doe licenses today. Bought eight at 8:00 am, then figured I’d get six more.

Tore into one of my Suzuki Eigers when I got home. It was starved for fuel. The fuel hose was deteriorating, and had specks of rubber clogging the jet in the carb. It would idle, but stall when you gave it gas. Running good now. This is my spare quad for trapping and hunting. Bought it off an HPA guy here four years ago. Good machine.

Just to clarify,,the blue painters tape is masking the Formica from glue overspray. Nozzle splatters and didn’t have any solvent. Wd40 does clean it up tho.

Fiddled around some more with the Polaris starting problem at camp before we left and got nowhere. Has a spark but wouldn’t even cough when ether was sprayed directly into the carb. Strong gas smell as well. Must be some other electrical ignition issue? Brought it home on small 4x8 trailer and tried again this morning. No start. Repair shop closed today so I’m taking it tomorrow . Then I will repack the wheel bearings on the trailer, who knows when or if that was ever done, dust caps aren’t even dented.
Cut several bundles of bee balm from camp field for a friend and my mother. Makes nice tea. Delivered that today.
Next door neighbor who I’ve been cutting grass for since his knee surgery brought over a bunch of Roma tomato’s,potato’s,cucumbers and a bell pepper. Think I’m making some marinara sauce tomorrow, maybe some potato soup. Need a do nothin day pretty soon

It’s not so much that I have lots of energy, I don’t at times. It’s the fact that if I don’t do it it’s not getting done and with few exceptions I’m too thrifty to pay somebody to do it if I can. The company I keep runs circles around me,and they’re 10+ yrs younger

Yesterday I went to camp to tear down the old 1/2 foil faced insulation board that was on the ceiling in the shed. Today it off to Home Depot for 4 2x4s and insulation. Going to wire up a couple receptacles that can be run off of my generator.
Allow some extra time if you need 4 straight ones!😂

We're planning a fishing trip in the salt. Party boat. But we're finding that a lot are booked for charters. Only some of the 4 hour ones are open. Not worth a two hour drive, gas and toll monty for a 4 hour trip. Hour out, hour back, two hours of fishing. Gor the novice tourists to catch a couple sea robins. Looks like the Big Jamaica in Brielle/Point Pleasant is the only one with a 3/4 trip. Looking central NJ and north. Deeper water and more structure than south Jersey.

Found a party boat out of Belmar, NJ. 7:30am - 2:30pm on Friday. Should be back home by 5:00 on Friday and hopefully with some fresh fish. The boat is targeting flounder. Hopefully I can score a sea bass and maybe we encounter some blue, mahi or bonito. Flounder's OK but I like my pelagics.

Man it’s humid here. 75-80% but only 81*.
Repacking wheel bearings on a small el cheapo trailer I used to haul quad back home ,dropped off at repair shop.
I think the last time I repacked bearings was on moms 68 Dart in the 70’s. Yearly fall chore when we put the winter tires on.
Trailer grease was gray, plenty of it and wheel hubs were warm but not hot when I got home Sunday.
Repacked with the sticky red stuff from CRC. One down , one to do before sun comes around the garage side.
