I’ve never fished for trout using a plug, though I have fished with friends that used them and they did well. Actually most of my fishing now is on flies, unless I’m fishing for the pan, then it’s live bait.
I caught more trout on plugs last year than I have in most years. I didn’t fly fish at all last year. I used to use bait but haven’t for a long time. To each his own.

I’ve been a spinner fisherman since my youth (early 70s). I only knew of 1 custom spinner maker and the spinner was called Timberwolf. I would be interested to try some of Frank's spinners. How do I order a few is the question? I’m always game to try something new in the water.
You can email or PM him. His email address is on the bottom of his posts.

They're worth a try for sure. Well made and very effective, especially the white bead gold.

Well, I have some guys to thank on here for a fun weekend of fishing at camp (Tioga). Before the season, I read the posts on here and bought some new lures that I hadn’t tried before. I got a CP Swing, white Rooster Tale, and Joe’s Fly. All 3 of them landed at least one trout with the CP Swing producing the most. The other two guys I was with actually went and bought some after they saw how well it was doing on our first day. We caught 10 trout and a carp on Friday and 15 trout yesterday between the 3 of us.

In my spinner days it was a Panther Martin. Except when fishing with my late uncle. His go to was the gold Pheobe (yes, it's a spoon.) He swore by it so that's what I always tied on first when fishing with him. Especially when we fished his beloved Paulinskill River in Blairstown, NJ.
