hrg, I just googled that grill. I like it but it seems a little expensive for a griddle. is the cooking surface nonstick?
We bought it onsale from cabelas last December for $249. It went up since but I did see it onsale a few weeks ago for $289. Its not non stick but it seems to keep getting better and better. Read all the reviews on it you can find online. We love the thing and I think its well worth the money. We cooked some steaks on it and they were excellent.

Thats sweet, funny we were at camp this weekend and were cooking on the grill and electric griddle (stove and kitchen not in yet ugh) my son said a buddy of his made a griddle top for the gas grill so now my job is to track down a piece of steel from work put on ledges, season and make what you had bought. Is there just the griddle for the grill??

I love that ! That's not expensive at all for a flat top you can feed the whole camp off that ! They would be great for a remote camp with no utilities.

I'm actually looking into getting an oversized countertop electric griddle for camp. The regular box store griddles work well, but the surface isn't anywhere near big enough to cook for the whole crew at once. We thought about the bigger grill style like the OP has, but we're wimps and don't want to cook outside when it's cold. Anybody have any insight on something that would work for us?

Do you have a stove? I use a large stove top griddle for making a lot of pancakes and french toast. They work well and are simple. Similar to the one below.

We put a 6 burner stove with a griddle and double ovens in our camp, a real nice imperial commercial unit.

Found it used for 200 bucks and put about 200 more into it plus some elbow grease and it's good as new.

We have a propane 24"x36" countertop griddle at camp, picked up around 40ish years ago at a Letterkenny DRMO sale for $30.00. It has cast iron burner tubes on it. A lot of grub has been cooked on it since then, especially breakfast! Steaks go on the grill on the patio, or over the fire pit in the yard. Not a fan of fried steak.
