We are going to be bear hunting up in that region, and I was hoping I could ask anyone with intimate knowledge of Weiser a few questions. Some of the questions would be have there been any frequent bear sightings and where are the thickest parts of the forrest, and the gamelands. Any help is appreciated.

I cant claim to be a wieser expert but ive lived 5 miles away for the last 15 years and done some turkey and deer hunting on the property. To answer your questions majority of bear ive seen harvested have been in the top near what they call the hangliders spot. I think therrs two reasons for this one ive witnesses the pgc release numerous problem bears right there and two the ridge adjacent to it leaks down to pvt property cornfields deer feeders creeks etc. Ive had 3 friends take bear right in around there most came off of drives low and headed high. Theres alot of thick cover throughtout the tract. Its about as good for bear hunting as you will find south of the big woods so my best guess would be get up somewhere you can see far and be paitent. They put on some large drives. I bear hunt the thick thick stuff on the backside headed toward lykens but thats a guessing game very hard to drive even harder to see or get a shot so im not sure its the beat plan of attack. Most hardwood food sources acorns small berry patches are kow with all the other hunters lol. Good luck me n my buddy spotted two bear turkey hunting this yr. Both over 500 on the run big mature males biggest bear ive seen alive

I will be scouting on friday, with the intention of driving that mountain out on saturday. You are more than welcome to join, as I believe we have 21. I appreciate the intel. Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated. We have some local knowledge in the group, but the more the better we can zone in.
