What's Wrong With Her?

I don't think I want her meat.

I have seen a lot of skinny looking deer in summer. Looks like she still has her summer coat but the winter coat may be coming in on her back. Some deer I see have a distinctive black line of hair down the center of their backs. Hard to tell if that is dark hair on her back or her skin.

She is out and about and feeding. Both good normal signs. Without observing her in person there is no way to accurately assess what, if anything, may be going on with her by two still pictures.
She could be up in age and it may be her last winter and death may be imminent through the natural process.
Or, it could be any of the possibilities that our minds want to see.
Regardless, she sure does like that mineral block.

I wonder if it is her tearing at the tree. The knob on that tree is intact in the 1st pic and shredded in the 2nd.
What are the time/day differences between the photos?
