Spypoint Flex Problems

Does anyone else have constant problems with their spypoint flex? It's by far the most troublesome camera I own. Luckily their customer service has been pretty decent to me, but at this point I'm about ready to give up on it. Whether it's having to pull the camera to format my SD card and redownload the firmware to get it to send pictures, or the annoying 300 pictures of nothing when it's a partly sunny day and every cloud makes it take a picture. Mine quit working on October 10th, just stopped transmitting with a solid orange light on. Customer service tried to get me to upgrade because the original flex was on backorder, so I asked how it was that I could get online and get a flex model the same day, (viola my replacement showed up 3 days later) but I'm 99% sure this new replacement is a refurbished one. I've had nothing but problems with it since I set it up twice in 3 days, both times I had to pull it and reformat the SD card to get it send pics. It quit working again on November 7th, how convenient. I went to the camera, turned it off, turned it back on and it started working. Batteries went dead in 3 weeks, so I replaced them on December 7th. It took pictures until the 12th, then stopped again, and I saw there was a new firmware update out, so I brought it home, formatted my SD card and tried to turn it on, now I just get a blinking green light. I have a moultrie that I've had out since August and I've changed the batteries once since then and get pics every day. I'm hoping maybe I just got a lemon and was curious if anyone else is going through the same problems.

My flex started out good, but since the first week of rifle season, for some reason I would get a notification saying to insert an sd card. Sd card was inserted, but when checking the app, it would show 0.00gb/0.00gb. Few days later it would work again! Then a few days later, insert sd card again. I pulled the cam and will test it out at a later date. As far a customer service, they’re terrible imho. Antennas have been backordered since early October and no one seems to know why or when they will be available. Seems to be common issue with sd card and customer service.

One of mine just did the orange light thing. Can’t get it to work.
If it's less than 2 years old, they will replace it. I used the chat feature on their website and they diagnosed it and covered it under warranty. Mine was 1 month shy of 2 years and they never questioned me.

I've had the 0.00gb/0.00gb message before too and it wouldn't transmit. Thats when I had to update the new firmware by formatting the cards and installing the new firmware. That usually solved my problem until the next firmware update. This replacement camera just isn't working for me. My original was almost 2 years old and when it went bad, they replaced it no questions asked. So if you're close to the 2 year mark I wouldn't wait too long, if they find there is a problem, they will replace it, hopefully if you get a new one it won't have the problems my "new" one does.

I have 3 and not a problem with any of them. Knock on wood. Mine are the g 36 flex if that’s the same as OP?
I had the original flex. After spending some time with the support chat this morning they found my camera will not download the new firmware upgrade and are replacing the camera with a Flex G-36

We have a few of the original Flex cams. No complaints except that they eat batteries compared to other cams. I thought firmware can be updated remotely with these cams.
I thought they would update remotely as well but it has never worked for mine. I always have to wipe the SD and download the update.

My firmware updates automatically on Flex. I would believe if folks needed Flex firmware upgrade they should call customer support to see if they can push it remotely. I know for sure our Flex updated automatically remote.
It’s supposed to update automatically but I could never get it to work. That’s how they knew mine wasn’t working. She tried to push the update remotely and it was still showing the old firmware. The camera was communicating but it wouldn’t send pics

That's too bad about your cameras. Very frustrating when they don't work correctly or at all. Currently, I'm running 6 Moultrie Delta cell cameras (still out on my property). So far - no issues. I've had them out since May 2023 and battery life is still between 96% and 100% - I use Energizer Lithiums. Granted once the real cold temps come, the battery percent will drop. I usually replace the batteries each spring no matter when percent is left. They are expensive but they work. I also use them in my 10 regular cameras - some of them are on their 2nd season with Lithiums and they were still showing 100% battery life when I pulled them in the day after Thanksgiving. I'll double check them on a battery tester and use them if percent is still good. Thanks.
