Are the cabins at Maple Grove still in decent shape. I know many years ago I think they were like new.
My son is interested to check it out so we maybe heading up end of October .
Was up in Pulaski last week and drove by there and the property looked clean.
Can't speak on how the inside of those cabins look after a couple seasons of fisherman using them.
You can go on Shane Muckey's Salmon River New York Fishing Reports or Salmon Fishing Reports & Information, Salmon River, Pulaski/Oswego NY FaceBook pages and ask the same question. You will definitely get a recent and prompt response.

Thank you EIGHT POINT. I read they have been under new ownership and the new owners have good reviews. I know it was a clean place to stay 15-? years ago.

I think my son and I will give them a shot.

Thanks again.

When you planning to head up.
Our annual outing is 10/4 thru 10/7.
Troutspinner, Beagler, & 1-2 others take trips up every year.

Looks like all the cabins are booked until around the 20th. Like I said earlier I’m used to going up around thanksgiving week. And getting snowed on, blown on, and generally cold but catching steelhead because of it.

I'm not into the salmon too much, but I’m sure the scene is a lot different than what it used to be with 5oz trebles being flung across the river and snagging everything in sight.😂😂

Thanks for your invite though and all the best on your trip. I’ll post up our report when we get back.

We’re heading up in Oct 5-9. Need rain.

in the mean times they screwed up the Tressle hole. Someone had a bright idea to grade down the steep bank , remove the tree line and make a friggen picnic area. ***!!!!!

here’s the link to have a look.

That’s a shame really. I saw the writing on the wall when they stopped the snagging, then sold the portly angler to the dec…….

Yes water is low as usual this time of year, let me know how you make out. Thanks.

Best of luck.

Hello
Is there any local knowledge if her North parking access road off of Sheepskin rd is open ? Early someone mentioned it was closed because of the restoration project there. They really messed up that hole.
Rumors are swirling around that the DER are trying to eliminate the pooling areas and resort to a more natural flow and migration effects. Even going the extremes to removing the small islands through out river.

To be honest we’re not sure to expect.

Thanks

It seems 2 theories are floating around. One is to eliminate natural reproductive so the state (dec) can control the populations better.

The other is an effort to bring back spawning habitat for native salmon. (Atlantics).

All of this is being done under general stream improvement, bank stabilization.

Gearing up! I am cooking 8lbs of meatballs right now for the boys. The house smells amazing! Italian style of course, 3 meat, cheese blend, fresh onion, garlic, parsley, etc.

Saucing them now, just a little bit though, I don’t want to overdue it as they are going to be warmed up at the place we’re staying.

I’ll let them cool and freeze individually and then vacuum seal them so one day next week we can enjoy the heck out of em.

Weather people keep playing tricks. One day they report it’s going to rain 2 days in a row, the next, none and the next, 3 days in a row, today, none. Geez, they actually get paid to do that. ;)

FYI to all my SR brothers out there, The lower fly zone has been closed to all due to the lower water level. The DNR does not want the fish that make it that far to be further bothered in their spawning process. While most if all do not fly fish these areas, this means that those folks will be down river below Altmar so get out there early and reserve that rock you stand on.

Got (10) guys on the SR this week. Reporting very very slow action. A couple guys took a ride up to the hatchery at lunchtime today and said there are no fish in the raceway or in the Beaver Dam creek there. Just sent them a few screen shots of places on the river I have had success in low water conditions as well as my favorite spots in the DSR.

I see showers all next week in Pulaski weather app. Hopefully that will occur. I know how tough low water is been there done that. But our deposit is non refundable at this point so maybe will try Oswego?
for a day or two. Best of luck to all.
