Does anyone fish for Crappies there, I heard it has some nice ones in it.
The only time I tried it, all I got were real small ones!
I don't expect anyone to give up their hotspots, just wondering!

Re: Oneida [censored], Butler

Years ago we fished the lake we called it Butler Dam, mostly at sundown and into the night and on the RT38 side at the upper end. There is a channel that runs along that side, we used to catch some decent ones on minnows. Then when the crappies quit biting, we would wade the bank and throw out black jointed Jitterbugs and catch some nice bass. There are also some nice walleye in there also, if your lucky enough catch one. We never caught much fishing during the day at that lake....I hopes this helps you some, Good Luck...

I've fished it a lot. I could walk to it from the house. There are a bunch of smaller crappie in it, and a bunch of 11.9999 inch bass. After 911, the place was shut down for fishing for about 10 years. It reopened a few years ago in some kinda co op deal with the Fish Commission. Park along rt 38 , climb over the guard rail, and you'll catch fish. Small fish. But a lot of them. You can only fish during daylight hours now.
