Last season saw the end of my old, old, Remington Hevi Shot inventory. This year I'm gonna start using my supply of discontinued Remington Wingmaster Hevi Shot. Figured it would pretty much be the same stuff but it was a chance to shoot more paper.
Shell is 3&1/2 inch, 1&3/4 oz. of #6 shot, traveling at 1300 fps.
Shot thru my old reliable SBE, using the factory Modified choke, at a range finder measured 30 yards, there were 347 pellets inside the 30 inch circle.
Also counted 159 pellets inside a 10 inch circle, just did that cause the turkey hunter's like to keep track of that stuff.
At 40 yards there were 274 pellets inside the 30 inch circle and 79 pellets inside the 10 inch circle.
According to Tom Roster's table it takes a minimum of 135-145 pellets inside a 30 inch circle, at any distance to kill small ducks.
Tom Roster's Table
The ducks are in a heap of trouble this year.
