x2 for Twin Pines. That's where I took mine, before starting to butcher my own. Millers is outside of Jacobus, and has been around while too, and Charles Illyes outside of York New Salem. I haven't used either of the ladder, but I know Miller's has had a decent reputation as a general butcher.
Illyes bologna and pepper sticks are great and they have a huge variety of things they make. Their sausage isn't very good though. Been going there for years.
Henry Horns taxidermy in spring grove. Had a big bodied buck last year. $100 to skin cut up all the steaks and rest into hamburger with bacon added. If you want bologna pepper sticks etc. he sends your meat over Illyes. He does not package the meat though
Getting to the point, where state game agencies or state game forums could assist new hunters or the recently moved, to the available game processors by county.
If you hunt, somebody has to process the gsme. And a lot of people don't stay in the same location.
Juat a suggestion.
X3 for Twin Pines. Got back into hunting last year after a break of a few years. Took my deer to Twin P, butchered fast and bologna is great. Steaks and roast were not wrapped, but I'm not sure if my first few deer before I started butchering were wrapped by them. Cost was approximately $110.
I have used Charles Illyes for years and their stuff is great. I never take my deer in whole they charge 75.00 just to skin and debone the meat. do that yourself and save.
