Crack in Receiver - Beretta A390

I had my Beretta A390 cerakoted and have since put about 6 shots through it before noticing a small crack in the sidewall of the receiver. My gut instinct tells me this gun shouldn't be shot anymore. Looking for input and/or suggestions if there is a possible fix.

Not all that familiar with the A390, but from looking closely at the picture, it looks like a punch was used on that little hole for some reason... I see some peening on the inner edge.
Possibly caused by your cerakote shop? Attempting to clear the hole? Or maybe cerakote expands slightly when baked?
Not sure, but it doesn't look like a critical load bearing area... Smith could probably clean up the inner edge with a file, but you'll see the spot of missing cerakote

that crack in the receiver housing is around the retaining pin for the cartridge latch. all the pressure when firing the gun is in the barrel/chamber area.
the gun will not explode/come apart if fired but the recoil will make that cracked area break off sooner or later.

you have a issue that I doubt that Beretta will repair for you unless you pay for a new receiver. add to that I believe that model
is no longer in production so Beretta probably will not have the parts for it.

I have dealt with Franchi and Benelli both owned by Beretta. Benelli has repaired my guns for free and Franchi sent me a newer model gun because they did not have parts to repair one I returned....no charge.

Looking at the damage it could be a manufacturing defect but if the gun was dissembled to cerakote it the damage may have been caused then if they used an oversize punch to set the retaining pin for the cartridge latch.

I would send it to the company, and have it fixed, either they will do it free or they will fix it gratis but either way you will not have to worry about it breaking.

Thought I'd chime in being a 390 fan. If you frequent any of the shotgun sites you may know beretta ( which I really like) is not known for good customer service. The good part is most people never need it. Being that this gun has been "altered" beretta may fix it, they may not. Cole's gunsmithing is the go-to beretta guy here in the US. Did cosmetic and maintaince work for me a couple times. If anybody can tell you if this is fixable or a bigger problem they can. It won't be free but you'll get your answer and usually excellent work. You could probably send them the pics you have here first and they will suggest to you what to do. Hate to see a 390 bite the dust. Good luck with it.
