The one that fits well and you are comfortable shooting
Agree 100% you can have the best rifle / shotgun in the world if it does't fit you won't hit crap. I am short armed and love the sx2 fits me great and I am very comfortable with it. When I bought the x2 I had the local shop lay out all the semi's he had sx2 came right up and fit great. Since then bought a sp10 and just doesn't fit gonna have to cut the stock.

dude you will get more answers than you want on this question. Find your own preference in Pump, over-under or semi and then go put a bunch on your shoulder and see what feels the best.

Not gonna touch this one with a ten meter cattle prod. BTW...I own Benelli, Mossberg, Winchester, Ithica, Browning Remington in pumps and semis...all great guns...to me.

Not that I'm much of a Remington fan but I would venture a guess that more waterfowl have been taken with an 870 than any other gun. They are not a fancy gun with all the bells and whistles but a work horse none the less.

I love my 870, I have semi's but just not for me. I feel better shooting my pump. Semi's I rush the shot to often and dont aim at the bird with the 2nd and 3rd shots. Just my opinion

Raised with remingtons... just cant seem to adapt to other makes safetys.
I like my 1187 super mag... but prefer my 870 super mag.
When I use the 1187 I hesitate between shots 1 and 2 when it takes me a second to realize why the pump action isn't working.

I am always amused when someone asks what is the best rifle or shotgun or handgun. There is no brand name that is the best, the cost of a firearm doesn't make it the best. What makes it the best is you have confidence in it, it fits you and you shoot it well. This is more of a personal matter as opposed to a dollars and cents or brand name issue.

Do all guns pattern the same?

Do they all have the same reliability?

Do they all produce the same recoil?

Sure, it all starts with fit, but the confidence is derived from successes using it.

I shoot an SP-10, which has a superior pattern over a 12, kicks less than any 12 3.5" and cycles flawlessly. None of this would matter if it didn't fit me, but I have about a dozen shotguns and they all fit me. So, I base my choice on the superior qualities of the SP-10 which no 12 can match.

Here we go don blowing smoke up everybodys you know what saying a sp-10 is superior to a 12. I'm just going to put it out there I kill more birds with a 20ga than don shoots at with that canon of a 10. Come on don leave the turkey gun at home and decoy some birds. Just saying. lol

Everything I said is almost indisputable and is common knowledge to anybody who's researched, shot or worked in the industry.

It's just not me who says this, the entire professional world says it.

The advantages of a 12 are...

Lighter weight.

Increased ammo availability.

Higher maximum operating pressures.

And it's not just me who would say those things. If you were more versed in the subject, you'd have never made your comment.
