Anyone getting the hunting license online?

Just curious if some of us are going to go the online route for our hunting licenses this year? This Covid19 thing has everything in a tither, and I'm wondering if over the counter license sales are going to happen.

I read one post here that said the online sales are pretty much hit or miss, and while I'm not questioning that thread at all, we're in a whole new situation now. What are your thoughts on this subject? I have a Senior Lifetime Combo License for a few years now, but always got the renewal over the counter before this.:smiley-confused005:

I would think it would be more of a regional thing, lots of places that sell hunting licenses are open now, like everyone's fave Walmart.

In another month, things should have improved even more. For the harder hit NE and SE regions, I can understand where it might be more of a challenge, higher risks being out of the house, just based on numbers.

I also think it needs revisited why someone with a lifetime combo would need to renew each year. Just issue a one-time card and if lost they can get a new one.

And not to advocate breaking the law, but my two cents is few WCOs would fine someone for carrying last year's senior lifetime license because as an "at risk" person, the senior was reluctant to go out unless necessary. Not everyone isvtech saavy to do things online.
The info is all there to look up. The media has some people truly afraid, their political agendas have muddied the truth.

And I also think the online system will work OK. Print the screen after completing the renewal or take a pic on your phone.

Should they reuse the same tags each year? Maybe make them out of plastic so they can wash off the blood or dirt and have it ready for the following year? Waugh!

When buying DMAP tags with limited availability, you only had two options. #1. Go online at midnight and purchase them at the Outdoor Shop.
#2. Hit the Walmart store and wander around till you can find a clerk who new how to run the PALs machine in sporting goods. #3. Wait till morning and hope your area didn’t sell out and buy your license.

I'm sort of leaning on the online route at the moment, and only a three day wait isn't excessive at all. The local Wally World is about all I have to get my SL replacement, the local tackle shop is out of bussiness, and Dicks Sporting Goods is never seeing me again after what they did.

Wally World has a line waiting to get in, social sense in the store, social gathering at the door. Too much risk for those of us in super high risk catagories. Parking lot there looks like they're giving things away in there.

The wife is talking about getting her license this year. She's let it go since we moved here, but she has her old license, and her Hunter Education Instructor ID card, so I'm figuring that won't be any problem.......only problem will be for the groundhogs and deer!:surprise2:
