He didn't hurt but the folks that truly got this done were groups like HUSH, PA chapter of BHA, the aforementioned couple legislators like Steele & Laughlin and a whole bunch of us Pennsylvania hunters supporting the effort.
Yup, basically every major hunter organization in the state threw in and worked for it… the notable exceptions were (of course) Unified and ASCL (is there really a difference between them?).
PAFOAC’s mouthpiece is out there trying to claim some credit, Stoker is out there acting like he played a part in it 🤣

Yes and there is still a process they need to follow seeing how Sunday hunting wasn't completely legal till after the April meeting still need 2 meetings one to propose and one to approve
So then if they dont approve full Sunday hunting on Monday, but delay to the fall meeting, Sunday hunting cant be finalized until the January meeting. What am I missing?

If it is done via executive order like what is proposed for Monday, it would not need a second vote. So they could do the same process at the fall meeting and SH would be legal after Christmas.

^^^ this.

In fact, the board could call a special meeting at any time (with enough notice for Sunshine Act compliance) to pass a similar resolution at any time prior this fall.

I’m a little surprised at the decision to use the rarely exercised executive power, but it makes total sense in this case where time is of the essence.

Then why not approve Sunday hunting for the winter seasons in one session. Only the government works this way to make themselves look important. No private business would stay in business operating like that.

Is your argument that a private business would jump feet first into a decision without fully studying the matter at hand, when they have 4+ months before that decision, which they could make right up to then of that 4+ month window, would have any impact?

The infantile lack of patience displayed by hunters on this Sunday issue is only rivaled by their embarrassing lack business acumen and understanding of the processes defined by Titles 34, 58, and the PGC procedures manual.

I discussed this topic with one of the Commissioners today it didn't sound good for Sundays in the late season or next spring gobbler being included this license year.

They made promises to the Legislators that they would go slow with including more Sunday hunting the first year in order to get the Sunday legislation passed plus they have some concerns about unknown harvest results with the added Sundays.

To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

They didnt have a problem going slow for the whining bowhunters, but are concerned about over harvest for muzzleloaders? What a crock of turds. The corruption in the agency is unreal

Whaaaaa!!!
I don’t like a cautious, scientific approach. I want what I want and I want it now!!!
They must be corrupt turds!!!

And you call others whiny??? 🙄

Your quick to bash bowhunters, every time- you got it bad man.

Did a bowhunter take your lunch money at some point growing up?
Who got everything they wanted? It wasnt the late season hunters!! Deal with it and go back to crying because you didnt get an elk tag again

You have a point. Bow hunters are going to take far more deer on the October and November Sundays than flintlock hunters will after Christmas.

lost again was right and everyone hates him for it. they pick and choose winners. sunday hunting should be open for all hunters, small game hunters, turkey hunters, not just deer hunters. Go slow, please give me a break. They picked archery deer hunters, they love silent killing. One thing is for certain and it's painfully obvious, they don't want hunters they want hunters they want. BS in my book. lost again you called it, hit the nail right on the head.

Lighten up, Francis.
Everyone gets to be a winner.
Just like the flintlock hunters tell folks, you’re more than welcome to pickup an arm that can be used on a Sunday and take advantage of the opportunity.
Besides, there’s little doubt EVERY season will include Sundays starting with the 26/27 license year.
They didn’t HAVE to add a single Sunday this year since seasons were already set, but they decided to give it a shot any folks are crying because it’s not enough or not the ones they want.

It’s pathetic and a horrible representation of what PA “Sportsmen” have become.

No hate, just endless laughter and maybe a tiny bit of pity 🤣

They could go “slow” and give other hunting groups a Sunday or two.

The harvest data I’m guessing is mostly deer related. I know in an earlier meeting they were reluctant to make to many changes.

I wonder if between fall turkey and spring gobbler they would have their data to consider adding a Sunday or more.

I‘m not saying only look at spring gobbler. Take a look at the other groups as well.
