Saw two fresh scrapes about 10-14 days ago while turkey hunting. Licking branches and all.

I had a post about spring scrapes earlier. I never knew they existed until i had the old whitetail calender. Sure signs of mature bucks testonerone level picking up and growing some bone. I am in trout mode now but come the middle of july the switch will be switched baby!

Bucks aren't the only deer that visit/make scrapes. I doubt it has little to with the "increasing testosterone". There are cummintiuy scrapes that are active year round, and are visited by bucks, does, fawns, etc. It's sort of a way for them to keep tabs on who's in the area I guess. Most people just don't realize some scrapes are active your round because they occur much less frequently than in the fall, and also, people aren't looking for them throughout the spring and summer like they do the fall.

Last weekend while turkey hunting i found a ton of scrapes. I even came over a large community scape that was at least 5 foot round and like 4 inches deep and it was just freshly worked. I'll be getting a camera on the scape for sure here soon!

Correct! I find scraps all the time. The majority of the pictures I get over them are doe.
