What is the difference, shooting wise, between a swiveling one and a non-swiveling one? I plan to add one to an inline.

Why would you need one on an inline? To answer your question though, the swiveling models allow you to adjust for uneven terrain so even if your rifle bipod is canted, you can still get the rifle set back to level-to a degree. I have 3 Harris swivelling bipods on my varmint rifles/Encore bbls and one on my 7mm Mag for long prone shots out west but I just can't see the need for one on an inline. Just saying but to each his own.

I'd want one in that situation. Buy the Harris. There the best for the buck anyway. Besides, when your done with your elk hunt, just swap it and use it on one of your other Pa. rifles. After all......those lowly Pa. Bucks 'n Does need to feel that they are worth the price of good gear too!!!
