I remember the Ivan Parry buck from Greene as it was in the front window of Joe Riggs Sporting goods in Waynesburg. Probably still is? Been a while since I have been past it.

I think it was the #1 for a while until the Fritz buck was found.

Think any of those deer were shot in another state or in a preserve?
Probably not back in those days. They didn't care much about antlers. The Janowsky buck was originally listed from NY or by a NY hunter, but I spoke with Fritz's brother and he said back in those days they didn't have a post office and their mail went to NY which was right across the state line. He said the correction was eventually made.

Great Post! Love seeing all these pics of these great bucks! At one time I was actually #16 in the archery non typical category, but through the years I've dropped to around 40th. LOL

Reibson did track his buck in the snow.
There was a picture of him with that buck and another that he had harvested that was just as big.
Not sure what happened to the other rack.

I like the Ralph Stoltenberg pic. Love that old wood core 4 wheeler, reminds me of my first compound, a Bear Polar LTD.
He hunts all over including my old district. He has a camp up here. He is a very successful hunt and beside some nice bucks has harvest at least a half dozen bears.

The number 16 gun kill was taken near where I grew up by my neighbors brother Lewis Black. It was 1979 and I remember Lewis saw the buck cross the road and was able to get on his tracks in the snow and shot the buck hours later. I tried to find a picture of the buck but no luck

It is still there in the front window. I travel through there for work and sometimes I get stopped beside it occasionally and always take a good look.

Thanks for sharing. I used to see the Ivan Parry full body mount buck a few times a year when passing through Waynesburg Pa. on my way to hunt WVa. I remember as a young man seeing that buck and wishing I would shoot a buck like someday, forty some years later I am still trying.
If I remember correctly you shared some nice photos of you in front of your shoulder and European mounts on a barn and I would be happy to harvest any of them. In my honest opinion if you can kill a 4.5 YO regardless of antler size in Pennsylvania on a relatively consistent basis you are doing very well. Deer over 150" are very hard to find here.

Great thread TBrom. Thanks for sharing the photos.
