A couple pics the last 2-3 years. The picture with myself and girlfriend is right after I shot my buck last year. His head was buried in the licking branch when I sent one through him

Reading comprehension again? He is asking about a mock scrape and licking branch. Your vanilla extract works good on luring red stag to a scrape. How does it work on whitetail?
Dear Lord in Heaven have mercy on these poor souls. Amen.
Ok LBM, let’s take a look at reading comprehension and go back to the original post to see SPECIFICALLY what he asked.

….. I've read recently that a good scent on the licking branch is very beneficial. What are……your recommendations on a good licking branch scent?
Your recommendation for a LICKING BRANCH SCRAPE is to pee on the ground? Do I have that correct, or did you not understand the question? Or are you whizzing up in the air and onto the branch?

I used no scent to lure and kill my State Record free range archery red stag. Just woodsmanship and stunning good looks.
Vanilla works excellent on licking branches for whitetails…….and peeing in scrapes is such old news I just roll my eyes when someone brings it up anymore. We’ve heard it a million times. I suppose it all breaks down into ammonia and smells the same in 10 minutes too? Right?

I have a large branch overhanging a field that deer are hitting every night we sit there. They started it, not me.
Does and bucks will come up and stick their entire heads in the leaves and just sniff for minutes at a time. One doe was eating several leaves as she stood there. Every single deer that came out went to that branch. The bucks will work it with their antlers, but the does just seem to sniff and chew instead of purposely rubbing their glands anywhere.
(I've seen does heavily working licking branches....depositing gland secretions before)
It would be a good one to put a camera on, but I don't want to disturb the area because they bed very close by. We've seen at least a dozen different bucks bed in this thick hedgerow.
