Fixed Blade vs. Mechanical Broadheads

Back around 1999 I picked up a pack of steelheads because of the hype I read about them. They did penetrate well but I shot a buck and two does with them and sheared off blades every single time. The buck was the worst and longest track job of my life.I also felt that they were as dull as a butter knife.Maybe I just got a bad batch.I did send them back and they replaced the blades for free.I just saw them the other day in a box.
I know they once changed the design and I didn’t like them….then trophy ridge had them and they didn’t seem the same. I really never had those kind of issues with them. In fact I usually shoot multiple deer with the same one. Sometimes they get busted up.
Bill winke also said he shot them for years and said they never cost him a deer.
They have always accomplished what I wanted so I stick with them. If have to use a fixed blade somewhere I’ll use an exodus….small compact….lots of people don’t like them either but they have killed deer and fly great.
