Actually most good pro archery shops would give you excellent information and point you in the right direction along with getting it set up properly. I would stay clear of the big box stores and Amazon. The price may be cheaper but you will have to get it set up to fit your draw length and a pro shop can help you with your shooting form.
Sorry I can’t recommend any equipment but after seeing many novices struggle to hit consistently this would be a good route for a beginner.

 

Agreed. A good archery shop is your best bet. On the plus side, most all bows, even at a lower price point, can shoot better than your ability. On the minus side, this is a tough time of year (right before archery season) to be looking for a bow (and instructions). Having a knowledgeable friend would be a bonus.
