Use marine plywood encapsulated in epoxy with marine vinyl. Will outlive us both.

Starboard is not load bearing and is heavy.

 

I used 3/4 plywood, ($140 4x8 sheet)with an epoxy called toughcoat, on top, and used kilz to seal the bottom of the wood and anywhere I cut. It's on year 3 and still feels like overkill. It's nice in December when duck hunting, just this year the rubber granules are starting to round off and you can walk on it with bare feet.

I had completely covered my plywood before in 2 coats of epoxy and the last stuff I used was was real expensive boat epoxy.
It's not holding up on any of my wood.

 

When I owned my boat I used treated plywood and used epoxy paint. Then outdoor carpet on top. Still solid as a rock when I sold her

 

I painted mine with a sanded deck paint.
Most of it held up but I have spots where the epoxy for some reason is failing.
It was a marine epoxy meant for decks and I put 2 coats on all sides. Followed mixing instructions.
This is the third time I'm doing it and I don't want to do it again.

 

What epoxy did ya get??? I get this paint from Sherwin Williams it's a 3 part it's a mix two and then a hardener. I'll look at it when I get back home this week. But it was expensive. Some type of macro epoxy if I'm not mistaken

 

I just got a jon and kayak but I love a quality eva foam floor. grippy and insulation for my dogs when duck hunting cold weather.

 

The first epoxy came from west marine.
I don't remember the name of the other stuff but it was highly recommended on boat building forums. It was sold mail order from New Hampshire.

 

Traditions if I was going to go over a floor that was solid that wouldn't be a bad idea.
My boat has a compartment in the floor.
It would be better not too.
I also never had my dog in my boat.
