I have a Moultrie Edge 2 and I'm not real happy with it.

Suggestions?

I'd look at this... I've heard good reports about them

Muddy Manifest 2. They only take pics, no video. I typically have 3-4 out from August-December. In my experience their advertised detection range is overstated. I find detection is reliable to 45'. After that conditions need to be perfect for a pic to fire off. You can usually get them for around $45. They use the same Command app as the Stealth cams. I've used them the past 2 seasons. I've had zero problems so far. 600pics for $5/month. I do like my Tactacams better, but these days I only deploy them when I want video.

I switched over to GardePro X66, from a fleet of Tactacam Reveals. The Reveals were too finicky after a year or two. Everything about the GardePro is better IMHO, pic/video quality, the app, initial cost, monthly plan pricing, the live feature, GPS tracking so theft is no longer a concern, etc.

Bushnell, ehhh. I don't even use the cell feature. The plan is too expensive.

Moultrie Edge 2's seem to be working ok. Battery life with alkalines is not good. I prefer a cam with an SD card though for studying pics on a PC.

A lot of good info here. I appreciate that.

I'm glad to hear feedback on the Edge 2's. I have a half dozen of the original Edge cell cams and battery life is phenomenal on alkalines, I was considering adding a couple of the 2's. Looks like Gardepro will be on the top of my list for more cell cams. Have you had to deal with CS for any issues with the Gardepro cams?

The guys at exodus said that all the coding and manufacturing for cell cams is a total joke and that it’s all done by the same few companies in china. IE your paying for corn with a deer on the bag.

they said this right after they went out of business

Funny you should say that. My wife asked me if I bought something from overseas? I said no why? She said there was a .60 cent international fee charged to our checking account. I had signed up for a cellular plan for the new trailcam. She called our bank and it turns out .60 cents of the one month $19.99 plan went to China. I'm going to see how things go with the new cell cam and a one month plan. If all goes well I'll up it to a 6 month plan. Then a year if all is still good. The bank did tell my wife to keep an eye on the account because of that international fee. I told the wife, I guess China is using my cell cam as another way to spy on us!

Just an update to a previous post I made where I recommended Wildgame Innovation cell cams. One of the main reasons I bought them was that, like Spypoint, they offered 100 free pictures a month. I currently own ten of these cameras. I bought three of the ten a few month ago but only activated two of them. I went to activate the third one today and came to find out that they no longer offer the 100 free pictures a month, even though it is clearly stated on the box. I looked online and it appears that they did this without notice. I almost bought three more yesterday (that still advertise 100 free pics a month on the box) but I'm glad I didn't now. I will no longer recommend these cameras. If I want to activate that one camera, the cheapest plan is $60 a year for that one camera. Why would I do that when I can purchase additional Spypoint cameras and add them to their $100 a year plan that does not limit the number of cameras that can be activated on that plan?
