Ive always been a huge fan of Hornady ammo. But just curious of any other factory 30-30 ammo that might be even better for over 200 yards?
Agree; my Savage bolt 30-30 also grouped at 100 yards run of the mill Remington 150 grain core locks very tight, even got a 3-shot clover leaf from a secure bench. But the 170 grain, not so much. Those old Savage bolts chambered in 30-30 were not just big woods work horses, the barrels were some of the best Savage built.....every now and then ya find one that is exceptionally accurate.
But for long range shooting, if it doesn't like the 160gr LVR ammo and instead loves a 170gr Flat Point, the distances will be less but still a lot more than most folk lore and camp legends have lead people to believe.
