I will be the first to admit I do not know much about bullet types and speed. That being said, I am trying to learn a few things.
From what I can see a standard 30 06 rifle averages about 16 or 17 lbs of recoil?
I have only ever shot remington core lokt 150 and 180 ammunition due to easy availability in the past.
I do know that companies have managed recoil ammo with reduced powder.
I guess my questions are...
a bullet is going to get there very quickly...less powder means it will go slower and I assume more drop the further out, but also less recoil?
What is a great bullet type for PA woods at distances of say on avg 150 and a max of 200?
Does the powder affect how the bullet performs at say a 50 yard shot vs further out?
My thoughts on bullets are..it produces a hole. All the different types like boattail and nosler partition etc are like a foreign language.
Thanks for input in advance.
