When she fed to within 15 yards, I put an arrow through her. Completely expecting her to fall over at the arrow impact, I watched her run away like she wasn't even hit. The 🤬 thing ended up going 200 yards.

Upon further investigation, someone had shot her in the back end with a shotgun.
Congrats, man. A mercy kill is something most of us have done and the right thing to do.

MY LIMB HIT THE TREE.
Yikes. Did the crossbow survive the impact? They usually don't. I have heard of guys getting knocked right out of the tree if the crossbow limb hits the tree. Lots of energy moving forward there.

What a good thing for you to do and what a horrible thing for someone to shoot a deer in the back end and make it suffer. I'm sure you know that you can get a replacement tag from the PGC if you want one.

I did not get to sit in a stand today but that’s alright. I helped my son recover his buck in the AM. Then my uncle came to help me with some excavating. Of course my cell cams went crazy this afternoon when I wasn’t out. Really nice buck hit one of our water holes at 6:07 and came back at 6:36.

Drew a blank this morning. Camera was hot here yeserday morning and today, nothing. Wind was perfect too.
Me too. Did you hear all of the commotion from the "faux fox hunt"? I was just getting out of the woods when I could hear hooves clomping, hounds baying, people yelling and bugles blaring. Unfortunately, that was the only excitement for the morning other than fox squirrels chasing each other around and a racoon as it was just starting to get light.

We had a trespasser "hunting his way through from the neighbors " last eve. He somehow missed all of the Purple paint and Posted signs.
We know it will be a learning curve the first year with the new land.

Actually yes it did. I changed my string and cables this morning, to be safe. Shot 15 times right after, everything seems green to go. Im am amazed and grateful!
