let me tell you,,being at work can be scary.
took out the cooking oil out of deep fryer tonight for a coworker, walked out to the fenced in area where the hopper is.
lid on hopper is up in the air and the door on the wooden fence is open.
when i grabbed the door and opened it another foot or so, the feeling i got when i stood face to face with the black bear licking cracklings and oil five feet away was enough to give me quite the startle. needless to say as i back up ,it was out the door, across the highway, and almost hit by a honking car!!!!
well i caught my breath, checked my pants to make sure i could safely go back into work.
gave kitchen staff the heads up on closing lid and gate.
that was a scary moment at 5;45 in the morning.
don't need to do that again in my lifetime.

Cool you saw some wildlife.Treasure that moment of life. You may never see it that close again. You may have been afraid but that was a gift many will not get.

i had an experience like that once. I was peeing off the porch at my cabin and a black bear stepped out from behind a pine tree 5 ft away. Needless to say i stopped peeing right then and there.

Just glad that you are ok and didn't get hurt! (By either the bear or skidding on something and taking a fall! LOL )
