Have one,20 ga. nice low cost gun, great hunter. Not an 870 but close.

Stocks were plain (birtch?).

many thousands of round thru it and still functions perfect, actually like a lot of guns, the more it is used the slicker the action works.

The 1300 is no longer made, they have a SXP coming out!
But I believe it is essentially the same gun, haven't seen one though.
I am not sure if it is made in the U.S.A.!I have the 1300 Deer Special and love it!I would never trade it for an 870!

I use a NWTF 1300 with the laminate stock, that is the absolute best turkey gun I've ever fooled with. Even better than the vaunted 3 1/2" guns that I've owned. It patterns and points like no other shotgun I've ever used..

I have a walnut stocked 1300 that my dad bought for me in 1972. The shotgun has been through heck. Never a misfire or fail to function. Still as slick as the day it was new. 870's are nice also. I have one. Both are great shotguns. Tom.
