I found the results awesome to say the least. I shot my first shotgun deer with that load this year.

I sat at the edge of a creek bottom, and had two doe come out in a field on the other side. I threaded the needle through the brush, and watched her take 3 steped and fall over. It wasn't until after the shot that I rellized it was quite aways. I sighted the gun for 50 yards, and the shot was range finder verified at 102 yards. I hit her right where I aimed. Right through the center of the rib cage.

The entire off side rib cage was completely bloodshot. I gotta wonder what would have happened if I hit her in the shoulder.

I have shot a couple deer with them here in PA at modest ranges of 30-40 yards. No issues. I was first exposed to these slugs while hunting in Iowa a few years back. The guys from the Hunting the Heartland outdoor show were in camp that week. The were sponsored by Winchester at the time and were using these slugs. I witnessed the on guy drop a 150" eight point on the run at about 125 yards and just rolled the thing. I think that was the first year they were coming out with those slugs and these guys had been using them and were very high on them for obvious reasons.

I used em a couple years ago. Good penetration, but pricey. Partition gold's are a great slug, if your gun likes em you can't go wrong with them. I guarantee your wallet won't like them tho

Anymore they are the smae price as any other "premium" slug. I bought them when they first came out 8-9 years ago for almost $13 a box. They went up to $17 a box. I got two boxes this year for $12 a box. Same as most others. Sure, there are some that are cheaper, but they aren't in the same class.

I guess they finally had to come in line with the cost of other comperable slugs in price.

Winchester 50 cal. 1 oz sabot slugs shot a 2" group at 100 yards in my Browning; However a couple of years ago in OH one hit a branch at 50 yards and deflected from a chest to a liver shot?? I would think that would happen.

Waited 3 hrs. and retrieved a very nice 8 pointer

I use them in my 1300 Winchester 12 ga. I love them, every deer I have shot has dropped in it's tracks. They make a heck of a hole.

Has anyone else noticed that these seem to be getting harder to find?

Nope. I find them at most gun shops. If you wait till the last minute you will find that they tend to sell out faster. GM had piles of them.

You're lucky......you still have gun shops. Around here most have gone by the wayside. The closest GM is over 100 miles away, Cabelas is roughly 50 miles. That leaves me with Dicks (who rarely has them), Wal-Mart (none of my local Wal-Mart's carry them). I have two somewhat local shops-Target World in Chalfont and French Creek Outfitters in Phoenixville. They have them sometimes, but it seems anymore most of the shops are leaning more towards the newer Sabots, such as the SST's, Remington Accutip and the Winchester Supreme Elites. I hope they're not trying to phase out the older stuff. I've personally found that the older stuff has a little more knock down power.

Found them at GM in Moon Township. At 25 yards two touching at 100 yards 2" with a 2 shot group=4 shots. Had to save one for hunting in Ohio late season, as it turns out I didn't need the fifth slug....saw no deer.
