found 3 old trees int eh middle of an old creek bottom, the plums are a reddish/purple skin with yellow flesh and a single solid seed, the fruits are about 3/4" - 1" dia. anyone do anything with these? gots loads of them.

Sounds like you found the remnants of an old farm orchard. Would make a fantastic wine or brandy.... if ya make stuff.

They will make some good wine and jelly.

We used to pick them and can them whole. Pierce the skin with a needle, can them with a lite sugar syrup and then have them over the coarse of the winter.

They were some some the best canned stuff we ever had and then that tree got cut down when they cleared the pasture.

Miss those canned plums!

True that !!!

Sounds like you did find an old orchard.

There are patches of true wild plum on our family property. They are sour as pig squeal and not much good for anything except the gorgeous snow-white blossoms in spring.
