Just wondering why one can't take antlers from a road kill or even a dead one in the woods. I would think if somebody wants to take them for rattling or hang on the wall, etc, any use would be better than being re-consumed by the environment.

Does the same law apply to sheds?

Being consumed by the enviroment included providing minerals to animals that need them, it is a natural process. There are two ways to possess antlers taken from a deer, legally take one in hunting season or obtain a permit to show you legally possess them.

Totaly agree John S, being recycled back into nature is the Best use of them. Rodents get a large amount of needed minerals from them.
