i am selling my leupold rangefinder because i want something more consistant out to 1000 yards or close to it. the leupold is suppose to be a 1200 yard unit but i would consider it a great unit for 500 yards or less. i have read good reviews on leica and wandered if anyone here uses one?

I have tried several brands while hunting out west and found that the leica rangefinders gave the longest yardage readings. I used a 1200 and could get results to 800 plus yards. Never could get a 1000 yard reading with any of them.

If this helps at all , I was shopping for a new more powerfull one at Sportsmans Warehouse near Pittsburg . The salesman recommended the Nikon Monarch Gold 1200. He could have reccomended ones costing 5 times as much , but didn't . I still have an old Bushnell , so I have yet to buy the Nikon , but will when I decide to upgrade .

I sent my leupold back and got a Leica 1200 The Leica will range twice as far instantly. You can count on 800yds or so almost all the time depending on light and conditions I have got 1200 a couple times. Was lucky to ever get 500 with the leupold.both were are the older models new Leupolds may be differant

Get the Leica.. Hands down,,, Go to a store that has them all,and look through them, leupold, Bushnell,Nikon are very dark, when looking through them,,,Youll will be able to tell the difference right away.. The Leica is smaller, and a lot better mechanics..They may cost a little more, but you get what you pay for...
