if you are spring sowing this years seed (cold treated this winter), they will germinate in 3 to 4 weeks. That according to the book. I sort of remembering them germinating more quickly than that.

I bought the seeds from sheffields they just said to soak them 24 hours then plant.But didn't say how long till they germinate

I would reccomend waiting until spring to plant. The company should have sent along planting instructions. They probably said to not over cover the seeds. Thats very important. For spruce seeds, cover with 1/8th inch of fine soil or sand. Also water very gently so that you do not wash the sand off the seeds. Also,after germination, too much water can contribute to damping off fungus. Keep them so they have good air flow if done inside (no plant covers or cloches)
