I will be picking up the new Xmas gift tommorow, my new cz 550 american classic in a 6.5 Swede. Ive narrowed my decision down to 2 scopes and am looking for some input. The Ziess Conquest 3-9 or the Redfield Revolution 3-9. Anyone who currently has these scopes I would love to hear what you have to say about them. I can save about $250 by going with the redfield which really helps but in all honesty that redfield aint to shabby from what i saw. Ive heard the ziess eye relief can be a real issue. Thanks Guys.

can't go wrong with the Zeiss. Clarity is much better than the Redfield, imo. I've seen them regularly for $399 on ebay. Enjoy the new CZ!

I have the Zeiss. Get it. It is better than my Leupold vxiii.

Don 't worry about the eye relief. The tube is long enough that you can mount it as far back as you need.

Check ou favelas. They have it for 399 and if they have a good discount going you can get few more bucks off.

On my Savage 6.5 Swede I have a Leupold VX-I 3-9x40mm. This year I sent it back to the Leupold Custom shop and for $120 I had them install custom target turrets....and the for another $40 I had them make me a custom vertical turret for my handload of a Hornady 129gr. bullet.

I gave them the MV as measured ten feet from my rifle's muzzle. Now, all I do is lazer the distance.....and for example if the target is 250 yards away, I just "click" the turret to 2.5, put the cross hairs on the target, pull the trigger and BANG....its dead on.

Something to consider.

Redfields are great scopes. They were good scopes before Leupold got their hands on them and they are great scopes now that Leupold has taken over. Zeiss is a great scope as well, with the Conquest being a great budget level optic (of course relative to Zeiss's other optics this is a budget level scope). I personally don't think that you won't go wrong with either scope.

Just something for you to chew on, I'm in the process of putting up the Redfields on my website here hopefully this week and am going to offer the above scope that you are looking at for the following prices:

Revolution Matte 3-9x40mm 4-Plex Reticle $152.95
Revolution Matte 3-9x40mm Accu-Range $157.95
Revolution Matte 3-9x50mm 4-Plex Reticle $179.95
Revolution Matte 3-9x50mm Accu-Range Reticle $184.95

Of course there is free shipping priority mail to your door with those prices.

Good luck with whatever you choose! Let me know if I can be of any other help to you.

Good luck with that CZ Forest. You should be very happy with the accuracy.I have the cz527 American in 22 Hornet and it is really accurate.I like the Zeiss also but if you really want super quality and like to spend money go with a Schmidt&Bender,LOL

I've got 2 Zeiss 3x9x40 1 on a Ruger.270 and 1 on a Rem 300rum sighted in and haven't touched since. Very clear scope good quality, 1 is matte 1 is silver. Zeiss or Leupold can't go wrong. You'll have a lifetime scope with both....later

Sorry I forgot, Good Luck with the 6.5 I've a 6.5 Creedmoor. Never had any problem with eye relief with Zeiss. Just somethin to think about on my 6.5 plannin on a 4.5x14x40AO Varmint x Leupold. I'm in for some longer range targets like G-Hogs, and deer. Take your time to make a pick. If you just want to shoot your new gun go for a cheap scope to hold you over anything on sale or a buddy might have an extra, most of all have fun, and nice gun....later

I'd go with the Zeiss over the Redfield in a heartbeat. the only new Redfield I've had 1st hand experience with was not that impressive. Biggest issue was that the adjustment clicks had nothing to do with the amount of adjustment they were supposed to have. A nightmare to sight in.

I have a Zeiss Conquest 3x-9x on my Howa in 6.5x55. I could use more eye relief. I have the scope mounted as far back as it will go on the Howa. It is good at 3x but I need to climb the stock some when I crank it up to higher magnification. Given the recoil of the 6.5x55, it isn't something I find worrisome and I would normally be at 3x when hunting. I like the Zeiss scope.
