I'm curious to see when others take their supers off in the Fall. My hives are pounding the goldenrod now, started about 10 days ago. I like to make sure they get all the raw nectar dried well, to prevent fermentation. I don't like to wait until they're done foraging though, as honey removal gets tricky once the Fall flow ends. ( trigger off robbing). In my area , asters bloom last, but I try to avoid messing with aster honey, because it sugars up too quick. An old timer told me years ago that beekeeping was 30% knowledge and 70% timing. I think he was right.
