Friction - Too many to list. My hot call last year was a crystal over glass in a cherry pot by Mark Cornelius.

Is that a 6-sided wooden pot call or a little rectangle like the old Lynch Jet Slate ??My go to call is a little slate made by a company called Hally or Halley calls, from Doylestown, Pa. I don't think they're in business anymore. Its small and produces low volume calls, but is perfect for tree yelps and close in work. I normally start out with that, then switch to a mouth call if I need more volume. I called my son's bird last year all the way in with the Hally call. Proof that you don't always need a lot of volume make a turkey come running.
Its a wooden pot call. Its actually rectangular in shape and has 8 sides. The peg for it is weird too. Its a hollow fat handle with the peg imbedded in the hollow. The peg is only about 2 1/2 inches long. Fits right in the palm.Is that a 6-sided wooden pot call or a little rectangle like the old Lynch Jet Slate ??
Kinda have me confused....... I mis-spoke as the Hally Deluxe Slate had 8 sides like you say. But the little, short, hollow striker went with a different call...... the Handy Slate. Its a wooden pot call. Its actually rectangular in shape and has 8 sides. The peg for it is weird too. I have several Hally calls and used to get free hats and calls from Joe Hall to use in calling contests back in the late 80's. My dad used to also sell his calls in his archery shop. Loved his mouth calls back in the day and I was thinking he sold his business to someone in Ohio.My go to call is a little slate made by a company called Hally or Halley calls, from Doylestown, Pa.
