I built a carport last summer. This spring found the cars... covered. Went and got the same plastic owl.
Mounted it on a metal rod with a golf ball on the end. Inserted that through the sand hole on the bottom. It now spins when the wind blows. Spin or wobble, end result is very little white out on the cars.
ok.... The story takes on a new twist....
The bunny is a mommy, well almost.
I'm working around the house tonight and I see the gate to the garden is pushed in at the bottom!
Earlier in the spring, that happened and it was a rabbit getting in and building a nest.
Thought I fixed the gate then..... hmmmmmmm.
Tonight, I check out the garden and sure enough.... another nest is started.
I'm thinking, no way!!! Not in the garden!!!
I close the gate tight.... go about my other work.
10 minutes later.... this rabbit.. er... bunny, is standing at the gate with a mouth full of "dry grass" for it's nest.
No way, nope, can't get in there.
A little background here... I used to run beagles for field trials, so there is a little soft spot in there for them, not to mention I have them all over my property.
Back to the rabbit... oops... bunny.
I go in the garden, through the gate, to pick some yellow/summer squash.
Pretty soon I see something go past me about 8 feet away!
It was just a glimpse... I look around, and here is the mommy bunny going to her nest!! She followed me in!
When I made the garden, deer fence and RABBIT fence.. I spent a quite a few hours setting it up.
Anyway... she is a mother to be, how can I turn her down after watching all of this play out.
I left the gate open as I finished for the evening.....
Hope you enjoy the story and pictures.
It's not all about the kill, it's enjoying nature at it's best.
She has a mouth full of "bedding".
Standing at the gate, waiting for me to open the gate back up.
