Burton Historic Village. Burton Ohio. It is the home of the WRABA Western Reserve Artistic Blacksmith Assc. Nice group of people willing to pass on their knowledge. Quite a diverse group of people very interesting. They have hammer ins at different locations ( peoples home shops) very informative. Thanks

I'm not familiar with those folks. There was a hammer-in at a facility in Columbus the weekend before. Put on by Adlai Stein at an incubator project Downtown.
Lotta good things going on in the area in regards to blacksmithing and knifemaking. Just have to keep yer ears open and nose to the ground. Pretty low profile.

Re: What's everybody working on?

Yes I go to that show. Also one in Cambridge Ohio it is in the fall usually very good. American Bladesmithing just had a symnosius in Troy Ohio. Or in very near future and a very good show and demo. with big time makers. Only problem is to much to absorb in one weekend. But well worth the effort and time, don't get any better. Have gone to the Warther show for many years very nice show. That being said you pass fairly close by on your travels. Thanks

Re: What's everybody working on?

Its a private summer camp. Science camp is the primary focus but with plenty of camp like activities, ie water front, canoe kayak, etc mini bikes, rifle range, archery then combined with physics, chemistry, video, photography, nature, human bio, computer, robotics, arts and crafts etc etc. Its a neat place this was my third summer. I kinda fell into it when i had time and was asked to do the leather shop and wood shop. Its been a lot of fun and enjoyable. I also am active in cub scouts with my two sons in our pack and spend time working with our whole pack. Appreciate the Thank you. I was in boy scouts and cubs as a kid and know how important those leaders were to me as a kid. Now its my turn to give back,

Re: What's everybody working on?

thats the plan, I got a treadmill off the side of the road that has a 3hp DC motor, trying to source a cheap way of powering it with a pediometer. If not I guess stepped pulleys and a pillow block set up are the way to go.

Re: What's everybody working on?

Worked in garage this evening little cooler. Made some parts for spring loaded foot vise. The vise hangs on the side of my anvil in the hardy hole. Started putting handle on blade left over from our trade made from a file, made extra blade in case needed. But not needed so will finish now. hope everyone well. Thanks

Re: What's everybody working on?

I finally finished a project I been working on for the RMEF. Pa. Elk Knife, made from predominately Pa produced steel, Pa elk antler and scabbard from Wickett&Craig leather.
This knife will be raffled off at months end by them, along with a commemorative Henry rifle and a print.
They will have their educational trailer parked at the latest viewing area on Winslow Hill. Might be the Groundhog Road?? location.
If you're up there lookin' and listening to them elk, check it out!!
