Well I trapped a fox, and i thought that it would be kinda fun to do a self tan... Well I bought the tanning agent in the orange bottle (forget what it's called off hand) But anyway.... I followed the directions down to a "T" besides salting for 1 more day then what i shoulda..

RIGHT AFTER (about 5 minutes) PUTTING TANNING AGENT ON:


ANy ideas on what might have caused the tanning agent to not take?

Well it might of,, but it's not what i consider an indian style tan...What i consider an indian style tan is a lot more browner looking, not a little brown like that looks.... SO maybe i should restate my question

Is this what it should look like?

It will be stiff untill you work it out,break it up,try just rubbing it over the edge of a board.
You want to make it soft,then if you want you can work some vegitable oil into the skin side,it might darken it some,but not much.
It has been a few years since I tanned anything,use to tan muskrats,and mink.
Right now I have a fox in salt,I will be using the same tanning liquid you did after it is done I will post a pic.
