I have no idea what happened, but I suffered a complete collapse of my Garlic crop. I've planted Garlic for decades without mishap. I plant in seed in October, and without fail, have a fine crop come harvest in July. Well last Oct. I planted my 170 or so cloves. As of this date, the plants are spindly, pencil thin, and the 2 I pulled show no bulb, just an elarged clove. This appears to be EVERY single plant. The only thing I did different in the fall was amend the soil with a compost/manure mix that I bought from a feed store. What hurts the most, is that most of the stock was from my departed Grandpa's stock he brought over from Italy. That's tough on me. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED ? I've never had cloves rot from too much moisture, etc....
