I think the one thing I lost and feel the worst about was a 6" case sheath knife with stacked leather handle. I had it stuffed in my back pocket and never found it...I still know where I lost it, i know the exact tree, but i've been back there 3 times and never found it.

just like this, but the sheath was different - and the steel looked like damascus but was really just mildly discolored.

Sorry to hear. My Dad left me a knife exavtly like that. Beautiful knife. Sheath is bad & im looking for new.

I havent lost anything major over the years outside of flashlites, gloves, foam seats, deer lure etc. Knock on wood...nuttin lost past several years!

I lost my WEDDING RING four months after the wedding! It was slightly oversized, and the cold air shrunk my finger enough for it to slip off when I took my glove off...somewhere! I was devestated. The wife just smiled and said...."no better place to lose it!" (My wife is great).

My wedding ring was cast to the bottom of a swamp after a buddy and I flipped a Canoe while Duck Hunting. I was divorced 5 months later. Must've been an omen.

I lost my wedding ring....oh wait...I threw that... after my now ex-wife called me the same time I had 3 deer looking at me. She called me because I forgot to "ask" her to go hunting....
. Would be the reason she is now my ex and hence my signature for the new wife.
She understands though.

I'm happy to say that I've lost a lot of stress and anxiety while sitting out in the woods waiting for bambi or tom to walk by.

The only physical things I can remember loosing (permanently) are one camo jersey glove and two knives that slipped off my belt (I've since learned to put a heavy rubber band on the belt and straddling a belt loop. the rubber bands they use for broccoli and veggies work well).

Having said that, I've had to circle back to reclaim monoculars, assorted turkey calls, seats, etc. But I've recovered them all (although I've had to come back the next day for some things that were way back in.

I lost a grunt call. I too watched it fall. But when I got down to the ground it was dark. Went back the next day and still couldn't find it. I was dragging a deer out of the woods a few years ago when I completely forgot about going back for my gun. Had the deer all loaded up in the truck and turned around to put the gun in the truck when it dawned on me. Ran 200 yards back to the tree I leaned it against. Sometimes it's just astonishing how stupid I can be.

I lost me in the woods, for a short time. This week I went hunting toward Jersey Shore, was looking for a knocked down coyote. After circling around and around, could not get a reading on the GPS because of the leaves, I was not sure where I started. The brush was so thick and all looked the same. I hit the button on the remote, my WT caller went off behind me. I followed the sound back to the starting point. I am sure glad I didn't turn off the caller.

A Neil Cost call my father left me. I chased down a gobbler that I called in for a buddy! He body- wing shot it but not head shot. Got up and ran after it since it was his first time and he didn't know what to do. I did catch up to the gobbler and body slammed it.

Looked for days to no advail, didn't care that they go for over 1,000 then but it was my pop's he had left me!

Lost my glasses, spent lots of time backtracking and searching with no luck. One time I lost my favorite knife on a trip to WV. After a couple days of going over everywhere I had been hunting, up and down several mountains, I finally gave up. Returned home several days later and there it laid on the kitchen counter. (I always carry a spare in my pack.) This gettin old stuff isn't fun.
