I'm looking at the weatherby orion sporting with 30" barrels for a clays and field gun. Does anyone here have any input? Will the action hold up to the round count a clays gun gets without getting loose? Tia
I just bought one last week. Only got one round of clays on it, so I can't speak for the longevity. I read a bunch of reviews online, and most all were positive. My thoughts are if Weatherby's putting their name on it, it can't be all that bad. Plus, for the price, you can buy a couple of them before adding up to one Caesar Guerini. I did enjoy shooting it, and I like the adjustable comb.
The original Orion's were made by SKB in Japan. SKB- made shotguns are very reliable. I think the newer Orion's (2016 & up) are made in Turkey by ATA. I don't know what to expect from those. Should say on the barrel who the manufacturer was.
