Weary Pup Coonhound Training advice

Picked up a Black and Tan Pup on Tues. He was a lion in the kennel I bought him from and full of energy. Got him home and he will barely leave my feet. Scared of every little thing. He doesn't really seem interested in toys. He will chase me around the yard but doesn't show any interest in anything other than my family and I. Is my pup broken haha. I have a 3 year old lab that has growled at him a couple times but I corrected it as soon as it happened.
