I have some property in Jefferson Co near Warsaw Twp. I haven't scouted or hunted it in years. Just wondering how the game numbers are looking? I'd like to take my young son up and stomp around... I appreciate the feedback!!

I don't hunt Warsaw twp but live close to it.I hunted the bond farm one time for pheasants but other than that,I'm pretty sure it's mostly private land.I do know quite a few people who hunt between Brockway and Hazen.I never hear any of them complain about deer numbers but most are probably hunting private land.Is THE OLD GAME SCHOOL in Warsaw twp?

We used to stay at a camp on Game School Rd and buck hunt. I think its Polk and Snyder Twp? In the late 80's, early 90's we would see 5-10 deer every hour on opening day.

Brockway is in Snyder Twp.
Along with Snyder Twp is POLK, which is a part of the Brockway SGL 54 ..

State Game Lands No. 54, comprising 19,160 acres, is located in Jefferson County.
The terrain is mountainous and wooded and shares its northeastern boundary with State Game Lands 44.

Since they opened the season to DMAP in Clear Creek State Forest there is not a lot of deer anymore in Munderf / Warsaw Twp. On the plus side, the game warden lives right along the main road there.
The Amish and Bonus Doe Licenses has put a hurt on the deer population on public land.. Most of it is now POSTED..

Snyder twp does surround Brockway but warsaw starts not far from Brockway and goes to Hazen.I'm pretty sure the Richardsville area is warsaw.I'm unsure of the exact boundaries.I just know the general area where it lies.

Places where you find private land owners that owns the land directly in front of the Public land, the private land owners posts the land, denying you access to the land.

How can I put it - frontage - is one word used to describe land in front of other lands.
The realtors advertises this land for sale, all the time.

Everyone is looking for frontage.

It seems to me that once they find frontage, they post their land, and then use the public land, as if it is their own.
I seem to remember posts on this forum a year or two ago about people fighting over a certain turkey hunting spot on public land, where the OP stated that he had staked out his area weeks before the season and had hunted there previously and came back the next morning to find someone in his spot. On public land there is no "Your Spot".
It is all - first come, first served.

Where I live, I counted no less then 10 horse / buggies - parked in the Game Lands the first day of last years rifle hunting season. Van's full of Ohio Amish and Amish acting poorly - shooting does and spike bucks the first day of deer rifle season in SGL 31.

I was the person that turned them in, along with the land owner that these activities took place on. And guess what, now the land owner posted all of his property, not just the property this offense took place on.

So now I am looking for a place to hunt too, after hunting on his land for 40 years.

Unlike most people, I give back, I actually do work on the land I hunt on. I help the land owners, dragging tree limbs off the roads and trails, patrolling the property for illegal activity.

I have removed garbage dumped by others.

I help the farmers in any way that i can, shooting groundhogs, offering to help bail hay, buying the produce they sell.

It seems like the people like me that are disabled are the ones that are the most willing to work, and are the first ones to get screwed when slob hunters acts poorly...

It seems to me anymore like the city hunters just jumps out of their vehicles - like they just bought the place.
They expect everything to be just like it was 10 / 20 / 30 years ago. Or they do something stupid and they upset the land owner.
They get everyone thrown off the place for something that they did!

I guess as more and more places gets cleaned out, the places where I hunt must look like Shang-Ra-La to them!
