WalMart sporting goods selection very poor

Has anyone else had their local Walmart's selection and amount of hunting gear (from broadheads to clothing and all accessories between) reduced from previous years? Ours in Lewistown has a real limited and poor selection this year. And most of their clothing and packs are "Remington" brand stuff. Which interestingly, the packs are the same "FieldLine" brand they've always had but has Remington's name on it. The model name is even the same.

I think it's a regional thing. The ordering is no longer done at the local store. It's done by a regional person and if they don't know a broadhead from a bobblehead or the difference between kasner and kahles, then the store gets crap.
can't say wal mart is my first choice for anything.
Punxsy Wal-Mart Sporting goods has been cut in half. I usually go down the Hill to Mahoning Milling and pay for their high priced stuff.....
They run out of X-Bows?
Wal-mart gets sent what the regional distributer sends. A few years back I was in a week before turkey season was starting and they didn't have any shells, calls etc. I was told that it wouldn't probably get there until the week after turkey opened.
It seems to me there has been a corporate decision to cut back or maybe at least regionally.
Mt pocono is almost non existant for hunting gear, wilkes barre the same, so on so forth.
I will only buy shells there anymore.
I will go to Dick's or Gander Mtn or buy online.
I wouldn't know as I do not go to their stores....for anything...they are the absolute scum of the Earth as far as I am concerned....
i second bobs call... but in this day an age .. its no longer what people what its what they can get it for and sell it for to make ther $$ granted thats the name of the game.. but its long been gone for the most part to go some were and actualy get help or dencent answers to questions .. now places do nothing but look at the bottome line for ther bonuses and perks.. again yeah every one needs to make money but the people walking in the door are the ones that get it in the long run.. and thers not going to be a change in that any time soon.. most people will B an moan about it then go back three days later and spend money ther and a lot of places are going with the old saying i used to hear when i worked for dicksports you dont sell the customer what they want.. you sell them what we have.. do i semi hate the place yes.. do i walk in too ther store maybe once a year if needed but i spend if luckie 20-40$ if its worth it.. same with walmart havent walked in too one of ther stores for 3 years till taken my little girl school shoping for the first time and she wanted a marker set they only sold... so i bit my lip walked in an she got some few things...
point being is no matter how much you get upset about places unless a lot of people change ther habits about the place they smile all the way to the bank...
oh did see some thing on the news a while back saying they tripled ther size of tvs an such cause of C. City closing ther doors and they are trying next to go after toys are us this year and become the #1 toy store..

A friend of mine. His one boy 2 years ago was up on their local store's wall as "employee of the year." This kid has a mild form a Autism and can't even get a grip on what it would be to "sluff off on the job" or "rip off an employer."

Wal-Mart was going to have to include him in their pension plan if they kept him on.....so instead of "banging up their cost" they trumped up some excuse and fired the kid.

Go figure, from employee of the year to fired. Yeah....right.

Walmart will go bankrupt some day. And I'm hopeful all of their management will have to face God and account for their actions.

Try any store in the Philly area, You want to talk about a joke. They don't even sell ammo.
I'll say......Harleysville Wal Mart is a Joke, I would much rather drive up to Nockamixon Sport Shop or French Creek Outfitters.
hunter4095 that is a hard area to find a good "hunting store", there are a lot of gun shops in that area or a close ride, but not hunting shops. most of the shops near you are guns and ammo maybe some holsters.
