WalMart sporting goods selection very poor

Has anyone else had their local Walmart's selection and amount of hunting gear (from broadheads to clothing and all accessories between) reduced from previous years? Ours in Lewistown has a real limited and poor selection this year. And most of their clothing and packs are "Remington" brand stuff. Which interestingly, the packs are the same "FieldLine" brand they've always had but has Remington's name on it. The model name is even the same.

So far Indiana store is not too bad. Hope the anti's don't see all the goodies and start trouble!
that kinda brand name stuff is all ways back door dealings... one company gets some and defualts on the order and others have a chance to get them cheap an such or some other kinda promotion that dosnet come around and they sell the order off... remember the guy that got a tree stand from them and remington wasent even apart of it.. it just gos to show you cant even trust the name of things these days the way the sell it... look at winchester knives and optics they are in no way connected with winchester but have the name.. same with field and stream clothing line made over seas for dickssporting goods... its a good selling gimic they see the name and relate too ther paper books counter part they have and take it on that how good the item is

but i remember ther being some thing about walmart stop carrying guns and a lot of related items in select areas were they couldent get the numbers they wanted.. this my be the resualt

It’s the Anti-Hunting pendulum continuing to swing.
Ever since Wal-Mart stopped selling guns and many bullets their hunting items have drastically declined. I was in one on Sunday and other then a few ball caps they had nothing orange at all and where they use to have almost 2 isles dedicated to hunting clothing and products there was less then a half isle.
They have more paintball paraphernalia then they do archery and gun combined.
It’s a shame since they were OK for grabbing those last minute things you needed for the season.
Don’t let the sale on shot shells they are running fool you, they must be clearing out their warehouse.
I notice that my store has less every year.
Walmart in East Stroudsburg is still stocked pretty well, including guns.
our walmart in east stroudsburg pa also has about half the hunting items they used to carry..walmart is going down hill for supplies. K-mart has a better selection this was a couple of days ago Ithink it ewas friday I was in there.
For example Walmart in east stroudsburg only has deer calls nothing else never had any turkey calls the only other call ive seen in walmart is for cyote.
The one in Mt Pocono was a joke, they had a bigger selection of sun screen then shot gun shells.
Yet ANOTHER reason to support your local independently owned sporting goods shop.
we have a great selection of belts backpacks and ponchos.

if you head over to camping you will even find flashlights.

not true. Its the economy pure and simple. Some other HUGE selling walmart lines are cut back too, I know its hurting my wallet.

wish we had one,our choices are walmart, dicks or mail order.
The store in Lewisburg is a joke. Don't even know why they bother to try.

As much as I hate to do it I just go to Gander Mountain. The small gunshops around here don't carry anything other than guns.
K-mart is even worse.
Its more of a camping section
I'll Drive past ten wallmarts to get to Tanners Guns my local guy.
k-marts started going down hill the day sears got them.. here in the pgh area they taken most of ther outdoor stuff other thank camping and put in washers and dryers from kenmore lol.. then the worst part is the crapy stores like gander and dicks keep uping ther price and lowerling ther services and help they have at ther stores

If the economy was the case then why did their electronics departments triple in size with all the big HD flat screen TV’s that cost way more then gloves, sox, hats or ammo?

I would like to use a local gun shop...if there was one. If I was into fly-fishing, there are 3 places local but the closest gun shop I know is 25 miles each way.
JMO, I think they moved away from gun sales and supplies because of public sentiment and to avoid the possibility of being a deep pocket contributor should someone get shot by a gun sold in one of their stores..
