Leaning towards buying a Vortex diamondback HP 3-12 to replace an old Tasco on my model 7 7mm08. I can get a really good deal on one, anyone here have any experience with them? I have a friend who has one and he says it is clearer than his leupold

I bought a Vortex Diamondback 4X12X40 with the dead hold BDC for a Remington 700SPS .243. It's a top quality scope. I have several Leupold VX-2's and agree that the glass is every bit as clear as the Leupold. I would definitely buy another Vortex Diamondback.

I have a 3-12 HP diamondback on a M1A. LOVE IT! very clear, very nice scope. So far it seems to repeat any adjustment. In the process of changing all my scopes to Vortex.

A lot of guys are loving these Vortex scopes but I for one have been around 2 brand new ones this past hunting season (not sure of models) on buddies rifles and I totally disagree that they compete with Leupold....im not saying they're bad they are certainly better than low end glass but IMO Leupold is still noticeably clearer
