Venango Co 8pt

Got this 8pt first sat at camp it was a good deer season for me and my dad we got two nice doe's friday but didnt see alot of deer but got some for the freezer

Thanks everyone it was a great year at camp most of the old timers didnt make it this year so camp wasnt full like years before had alittle snow middle of the week not much but enough to see better i havent got a buck at camp since 2002 so it felt good to get some horns this year and found a new way to skin deer way faster hers a pic

Actually, it is most beneficial when the deer are frozen. (Beneficial to the person skinning.)

I have done 2 that way, including my 10-point this year. Both times, at about the precise point shown in those pics, coming up to the head, the deer split in to at the back bone, and the back straps came completely out....cleaner than any butcher could ever cut one out! Only had to cut about two inches around the top.
